The Foton Cummins F-Series engine is Cummins’ first global light-duty engine. Since the first F3.8 engine was successfully ignited in Darlington, UK, in 2006 and officially put into mass production in 2009, the Foton Cummins F-Series engine has continued to develop. It adopts a 2000bar ultra-high pressure common rail fuel system, combined with Cummins’ combustion optimization and 4-valve vertical central injection design, which improves combustion efficiency and optimizes atomization uniformity—achieving a fuel saving rate of up to 15% when combined with the vehicle. The newly designed power cylinder, variable-displacement oil pump, and intelligent fuel consumption management system together achieve a total fuel saving of 15%. The two-stage pre-injection technology optimizes NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) and improves driving comfort.
Application innovation for segmented scenarios is particularly prominent: the Foton Cummins F3.0 refrigerated truck is equipped with dedicated configurations; the Foton Cummins F2.5 VGT version maintains full torque output at an altitude of 3500 meters; compared with the Foton Cummins F2.8 Van, the Foton Cummins F2.5 Van achieves a fuel saving of 7.7%-9.9% in the CHTC cycle, and the decoupler saves an additional 1% fuel. The noise reduction of the supercharger and the integrated optimization of the power chain system further enhance product competitiveness.
