On October 21, the new energy light truck segment gained a new player: Foton Motor made a heavyweight entry with "Qimingxing" (Morning Star), the world’s first exclusive pure electric light truck platform. Through technological breakthroughs in five key dimensions, it redefines industry standards, injects disruptive momentum into the segment, delivers an unprecedented operational value experience to users, and jointly sets a new value benchmark for new energy light trucks.
 

Four New Technical Architectures Build Qimingxing’s Differentiated Competitive Barriers

  1. The pioneering centrally distributed drive architecture integrating "MTCU + SiC + oil-cooled flat-wire motor" achieves an overall efficiency of 95.7%, laying the foundation for extreme energy reduction.
  2. The innovative vehicle-integrated domain control architecture featuring "cross-domain integration + regional control + edge computing". Built on the independently developed FEEP 2.0 electrical architecture, it enables deep integration of the vehicle domain, intelligent driving domain, and cockpit domain. It supports L2-level advanced driver assistance (ADAS) and is upgradable to L4, with zero-latency vehicle response and OTA (Over-the-Air) remote iteration capabilities.
  3. The intelligent chassis architecture combining "drive-by-wire chassis + chassis health management" solidifies product performance. Notably, its pioneering FBS ultra-high-voltage energy-storage drive-by-wire braking system achieves a response time of just 0.1 seconds—70% faster than traditional hydraulic braking—shortening braking distance by 15.5%.   • Energy Efficiency: Through high-efficiency drive, a drag coefficient of 0.3, lightweight design (over 300kg weight reduction), and a multi-source heat pump thermal management system, it cuts energy consumption by 6kWh per 100km—saving over RMB 6,000 annually for 100,000km of operation. The 165kWh version offers a range of 607km, and 2C fast charging can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in just 18 minutes, completely eliminating range anxiety.
  • Intelligence: Equipped with over 20 intelligent driving assistance functions, more than 100 intelligent voice control features, and 12 remote control functions via a mobile app. Its fleet management system integrates a TMS (Transportation Management System) solution, significantly improving transportation efficiency.
  • Safety: A three-layer safety system ("intelligent + active/passive + information security") is adopted. It features a heavy-truck-grade "shield-type" body topology (36% higher torsional stiffness, 51% high-strength steel usage), batteries that pass five-dimensional extreme tests, and end-to-end encryption for data transmission.
  • Comfort: Catering to younger, more professional commercial vehicle drivers with higher comfort demands, Qimingxing offers a 49° MPV-level steering wheel angle, reclining seats, and 270L of super-large storage space. Handling tuning that reduces roll gain by 19% alleviates fatigue during long-distance driving.
  • Power: Boasting 140kW rated power and 550Nm maximum torque—27% better than industry averages—it comes standard with a dedicated hill-climb gear and snow/rain mode, easily handling complex road conditions and redefining high-performance benchmarks.
  • Reliability: The industry-first full-scenario reliability protection system is applied. Over 40% of body parts use galvanized steel and multi-layer paint protective coatings; the frame adopts component electrophoresis + assembly powder coating; chassis fasteners are upgraded to Dacromet anti-corrosion technology, achieving 7-10 years of long-term corrosion resistance. Rigorous multi-round testing and durability trials ensure stable operation in extreme environments, creating a long-term reliable operational partner for users.
 
It is reported that the all-new light truck product developed based on the Qimingxing platform will make its official debut in the fourth quarter of 2025.
